Hi. It’s Pete’ daughter (Saybrook Lantern). I couldn’t find your card to call you. I just wanted to thank you so much for the bath you guys gave my dad today in the Jacuzzi . I had asked Hospice in Madison if they had a massage therapist because my dad is so stiff and has so much arthritis to help him but they didn’t have one. The Jacuzzi probably felt so good to him on top of getting an actual bath. You don’t know how much that means to us.
We love our dad/husband so much. You all do such a wonderful job with him and I see that you do care about all of your residents. It sets our minds at ease knowing that he’s being taken care of and not neglected, especially when we can’t be there 24/7. Having to remove him from his home with his family of 53 years was and still is the hardest thing we have ever had to do, so appreciate all that you do. He told my mom the day he moved that he was scared and he hoped they weren’t mean to him (that makes me cry every time I think of that). We know that he is very happy and content with his “home”.
Again, we can’t thank you enough for making him feel comfortable, loved and dignified. I was there on Sunday with my mom. Abby and Hailey said they were going to try and do some type of craft or painting with him because I begged them to have him do something so I can treasure it forever.
Do you know if they were able to get him to do anything? Please feel free to take pictures/ videos and post on your Facebook page (I’m always looking to see my dad in your pictures that are posted)! I’m also trying to get him to laugh while I’m visiting and to video it, but of course I can never catch him, and apparently he laughs all the time for your staff! I would love it if someone could video him laughing. You can always, always send me pictures and videos of my dad at ________. I want as many pictures as possible because I know he is declining and we aren’t going to have him forever… I’m a big picture person (I made a memory book for him that my mom needs to bring in to show staff…. That way they can see what a wonderful father and husband he is.
Sorry to go on and on. Please contact me anytime at ______ for updates, issues, concerns, good news, etc and I will get the information to my mom. God bless all of you and the great work you all do for my dad especially, but for all of your residents.
